At Putting the Pieces Together, we take the time to understand how your child learns by completing a comprehensive assessment that highlights their strengths as well as the areas where they may need extra support. Using trusted, standardised assessments such as TILLS, CUBE-3, MOTIF, TOWRE we identify the underlying reasons for their literacy difficulties. We can then create an individualised support plan tailored to your child's unique learning profile, ensuring they receive targeted, evidence-based intervention to help them build confidence and reach their full potential.

Comprehensive Assessments

Stage 1. Initial Consultation

Meet your education specialist. Student and parent to attend.

Review reports and any relevant medical history and symptoms.

Your education specialist will select the best testing measures based on your concerns and make a plan with you about how to proceed.

This appointment goes for 60 minutes.

Note: You can book for just this appointment first before committing to further testing sessions.

Stage 2: Assessment Sessions

For children, 2 or 3 testing sessions are usually required.

For Adults 2 sessions are usually required.

Each session contains a mixture of auditory, reading and writing activities, tailored based on the information provided in the initial consultation. Sometimes additional measures are used when required.

Each testing session is approximately 60 minutes.

Stage 3: Feedback Session

Meet with your education specialist to discuss your results and answer any questions you have.

Usually this appointment is 2-4 weeks after you finish the testing sessions.

You have the option to have a written report done, which will be provided to you in this session.

Optional Reports

You can choose to order a written report that outlines your results, diagnosis, recommendations etc.

Short reports: a summary of results. (2-3 pages).
Long reports: full reports of all results. (5-8 pages).
Your education specialist can guide you around whether you need a report, and which one is best based on your needs.

You don't have to order a report straight away. You can wait until after your feedback session, or even contact us a few months later to arrange one.
